Will preside over all general, special and executive board meetings.

Will, in conjunction with the Vice-President, appoint committees necessary to the welfare of the organization.

Will act as liaison between the organization, the quilting industry and other organizations.


Will assist the President: in the absence of, or at the request of the President, will perform the duties of the President.

Will assume the position of the President the following year.

Will insure the organization has a regular meeting place.

Will oversee the Program Committee.


Will keep an accurate record of all meetings, collect mail from the PO box and handle correspondence.


Will collect and take charge of all dues and funds of the organization and will keep a written account of all organizational transactions.

Will prepare a monthly and quarterly report to the membership on income and expenses. The Executive Board may authorize expenditures not exceeding $75.00. Expenditures exceeding $75.00 (not previously budgeted) must be authorized by a 2/3 vote at any meeting. The Treasurer’s books will be internally audited at the close of the fiscal year ending December 31. A financial guideline will be prepared jointly by the incoming and outgoing treasurers and presented to the general membership for approval at the January meeting.


Selects an organization and/or cause to benefit from the Guilds’ efforts. Plans projects(s) and encourages members to participate in the project(s).


Responsible for set-up of necessary tables/or chairs for each meeting and setting up for refreshments as provided by the members. Will make sure the room is clean after the meeting and left in an appropriate manner for the next group to use.


Will remember special events in the newsletter.

Will send remembrances to members (i.e., cards for birthday, anniversary, bereavement, etc.).


Will make arrangements for housing of special guests, speakers, and teachers of the Guild.


Will maintain and distribute a roster of members, process applications and hold membership drives.

Will help members and visitors feel “welcome”.

Will offer members a nametag swatch to purchase for creating a personalized nametag to wear at meetings and special functions.


Will produce and mail (or email) a monthly newsletter to members, which will include, but not be limited to, the minutes of the Executive Board meeting and the monthly refreshment providers.
May solicit classified and retail advertising.


Will plan the education or speakers portion of each meeting.


Will publicize the meeting and special events in the media.


Will organize fund-raisers to support the CMQG (excluding quilt show) and will include workshops and education programs other than those provided at regular meetings.
